LAS VEGAS – More than 70% of people 12 and older in Clark County have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccines. This milestone means more southern Nevadans have taken steps to protect themselves and others from COVID-19.
The news comes as the rate of COVID-19 positivity declines in Clark County. To maintain and expand this progress, people must continue to take steps to protect themselves. This means that people who have received a dose of Moderna or Pfizer need a second dose to be fully protected. With our combined and sustained efforts, we can continue to slow the spread of COVID-19 in our community and resume the fun of our life before the pandemic. “
In addition to getting vaccinated, people can protect themselves and others by wearing appropriate masks in indoor public places in accordance with mandates, staying at home when sick, washing their clothes frequently. hands with soap and running water, covering nose and mouth when coughing and sneezing and getting the flu shot. People who show symptoms or have been exposed to someone infected or suspected of COVID-19 should be tested regardless of their vaccination status. Expanded COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic Hours
Beginning Friday, October 1 and through Saturday, October 25, the health district will be offering extended COVID-19 immunization clinic hours in the evenings and weekends at its 280 S. Decatur Blvd. Southern Nevada Community Health Center:
- Friday and Monday: 5 p.m. – 8 p.m.
- Saturday and Sunday: 12 p.m. – 7 p.m.
The vaccine is readily available throughout southern Nevada. People can find it in their pharmacies, community clinics, health district sites, and pop-up locations. An additional location for the community clinic, including a live chat support feature to make scheduling a COVID-19 vaccine appointment and obtaining vaccine information more accessible, is available at www.NVCOVIDFighter.org.
To date, the health district has administered 2,486,149 total doses of vaccine. More than 75 percent of 18-year-olds have started the vaccination. The health district reports that 1,173,320 vaccinations have been carried out. More than 62 percent of adults have completed the vaccination and more than 57 percent of eligible people have completed the vaccination.
