Health Programs Coordinator – Türkiye
INARA provides life-changing medical care and restorative surgery for children (0-18 years old) who have injuries from war, explosions or hazardous living conditions, and who do not have access or cannot afford treatment. INARA’s job is to fill the gap in access to free medical and surgical care. INARA also supports ongoing cases with medications, medical equipment (such as prostheses, glasses, glass eyes, hearing aids), laboratory and diagnostic tests, transportation, accommodation before/after surgery and other therapeutic regimens (speech therapy, physiotherapy, psychotherapy) . In addition, INARA provides psychiatric and psychological therapy services to children in need through its in-house mental health program.
The Health Programs Coordinator is responsible for the case management team at INARA. S/he will lead and influence the practice of case management within a team of Case Management Officers who directly support injured and injured refugee children through effective case management allocation, case supervision by team and individual and collaborative work with other organizations in Turkey.
Case Management and Health Care Coordination
- Manage and coordinate a team of Case Management Officers through effective group supervision, leadership and individual coaching to deliver responsible and collaborative casework
- Provide holistic oversight and management of the case processing cycle from case initiation to case closure, providing sufficient guidance and technical support to the case team, and initiating case processing for complex cases if necessary
- Advocate for the best interests of children with other members of the interdisciplinary team and within the healthcare facility to ensure informed decision-making, consent, alignment with care plans and quality of life for children and families
- Facilitate case referrals to/from partner organizations and agencies, and help families understand related policies, eligibility criteria, and financial/legal issues
- Ensure the implementation of common ethical and legal standards in social work in health care settings, and identify and build on protective and risk factors
- Identify child protection and sexual and gender-based violence issues and ensure that child protection principles are followed at all stages of case processing
- Coordinate palliative care, including pain and symptom management, with medical staff
- Address family systems issues, including the impact of health problems, illness and disease on family relationships; The cycles of life; and helping roles and support models.
- Provide intervention and/or referral plans for cases related to bereavement, loss and bereavement; depression, anxiety, substance abuse and other mental health issues; sexual health and concerns related to sexual orientation, gender identity and roles. This should be taken into consideration depending on the developmental stage of the child.
- Provide counseling and evidence-based intervention for behavior change.
- Provide support to the mental health program team and ensure coordination between the two programs.
Organizational development and administration
- Strengthen the organization’s monitoring and evaluation processes and tools and provide support in evaluating the impact of programs
- Develop internal and institutional donor reports on program progress and ensure that all reports, data and accountability are delivered on time
- Responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring case management plans for programs
- Contribute to the development of policies and strategies and provide support in the development and implementation of new proposals and programs
- Provide support in maintaining and developing the organization’s medical and humanitarian partnerships for enhanced collaborative working
- Ensure case files are updated in a timely manner using the organization’s digital platforms
- Request and spend allocated weekly cash advances, and review and approve relevant documents for the case team.
- Ensure that physical receipts and bills from health care providers are kept.
- Ensure that financial and procurement procedures are applied when dealing with suppliers/contractors.
- Reports to the Country Manager on a regular basis through weekly catch-ups.
- Request approval of all payments from the Country Manager.
- Located in Gaziantep, Turkey, the work environment will be a combination of field and office work
There may be times when the job holder is required to work weekends or evenings and undertake other duties which are broadly in line with the above.
- A bachelor’s degree in social sciences or any relevant degree (medicine, pharmacy, nursing)
- At least 4 years of experience in health and case management projects.
- Fluency in Arabic, Turkish and English is required.
- Excellent oral and written communication and report writing skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data collection tools.
- Decision-making skills to act on policies and strategies.
- Turkish citizenship is required
