LifeSpring, partner of Overdose Lifeline for the installation of NaloxBoxes | New

JEFFERSONVILLE – LifeSpring Health Systems announced this week the installation of NaloxBoxes at eight of their sites in southern Indiana, through a partnership with Overdose Lifeline.

The boxes contain the life-saving drug naloxone, which reverses the effects of an opioid overdose. The boxes are intended to allow access to naloxone at any time, without any barrier.

Boxes are accessible 24 hours a day, with no personal interaction required. Use of the boxes is also free. Beth Keeney, DrPH, Executive Vice President of Community Health Initiatives, said: “Low barrier access to naloxone is a critical component in stemming the tide of preventable overdose deaths. We are grateful to Overdose Lifeline for its leadership in this area. “

The boxes were placed outside the LifeSpring offices in Corydon, English, Madison, Paoli, Rockport, Salem, Tell City and the main administration building in Jeffersonville. The addresses of these locations can be found here: https://www.lifespringhealthsystems.org/about-us/locations/.

Indianapolis-based Overdose Lifeline is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping people and communities affected by substance use disorders, and providing naloxone boxes and refills free of charge. Their goal is to place at least one box in every county in Indiana, with more boxes in counties with higher overdose rates.
