washington d.c. – U.S. Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), senior member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, announced the following grants to Alaskan organizations, tribal entities and communities:

• Alaska—statewide: $9.7 million to the Alaska Primary Care Association (APCA) of the United States Department of Commerce for the training of health personnel.
• Alaska – Statewide: $50.6 million to the State of Alaska from Doyon Limited for the deployment of broadband infrastructure.
• Alaska – Statewide: $9 million to the Department of Natural Resources Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is an agency of the United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for fire suppression.
• Alaska – Statewide: $123,768 to Alaska Health and Social Services from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for health services.
• Alaska – Statewide: $2.6 million to Alaska Health and Social Services from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for overdose research.
• East Aleutians Borough: $2 million to Aleutians East Borough for community project funding/construction by the US Department of Health and Human Services.
• Anchoring: $136,313 to the University of Alaska Anchorage from the National Science Foundation for Collaborative Research: Unearthing the Young Stars in Aquila.
• Anchoring: $280,000 to the University of Alaska Anchorage from the Department of Health and Human Services to help with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder.
• Anchoring: $6,213 to the Aleutian Association Museum of the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) to support small and medium-sized institutions to care for important humanities collections.
• Anchoring: $865,500 to the University of Alaska Anchorage from the Department of Health and Human Services for area health education centers.
• Anchoring: $1.1 million to the Department of Health and Human Services for Racial and Ethnic Approaches to Community Health (REACH) Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium.

• Eklutna: $257,183 to Eklutna Native Village of the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) for editions or translations of pre-existing texts of value to the humanities.
• Fairbanks: $3 million to the University of Alaska Fairbanks from the National Science Foundation for reducing fuel oil consumption in rural Arctic communities.
• Fairbanks: $$2.9 million to the University of Alaska Fairbanks from the National Science Foundation for the development of a place-based science, technology, and math (STEM) education model for cultural connections to science from Alaska.
• Fairbanks: $300,000 to the University of Alaska Fairbanks from the National Science Foundation for Transforming Arctic Geosciences for Alaska Native Sovereignty and Science.
• Fairbanks: $147,080 to the University of Alaska Fairbanks from the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) for miner training programs.
• Fairbanks: $447,533 to NSF’s University of Alaska Fairbanks for Collaborative Research: MOSAiC Sea Ice Samples for Stratigraphy, Microstructure, and Inherent Optical Property Studies.

• Fairbanks: $335,949 to the University of Alaska Fairbanks from the National Science Foundation for Collaborative Research: Zooplankton Reboot in a High Latitude Marine Ecosystem: Species-Specific Recruitment and Development in Early Spring.
• Fairbanks: $2.4 million to Fairbanks North Star Borough from the Federal Transit Administration for compressed natural gas buses and compressed natural gas paratransit vans.
• Gulkana: $4.2 million to the Federal Transit Administration’s Gulkana Village Council for the Soaring Eagle Transit (SET) Multipurpose Operations and Maintenance Facility.
• Homer: $50,000 to the Homer Society of Natural History from the Institute of Museum and Library Services for Reigniting Learning and Discovery.
• Iliulikk Bay: $22.3 million to the Qawalangin Tribe of Unalaska from RAISE for the Qawalangin Tribe Port Infrastructure Improvement Project.
• Juneau: $199,879 to the University of Alaska southeast of Juneau from the National Science Foundation for Riverine Biogeochemical Export from High-Latitude Catchments: The Role of Glaciers and Extreme Hydrologic Events.
• Juneau: $1 million to the Environmental Protection Agency’s Department of Environmental Conservation for solid waste disposal.
• Juneau: $485,806 to the US EPA’s Department of Environmental Conservation for safe drinking water.
• Juneau: $2.2 million to the Borough of Juneau from the Federal Transit Administration for maintenance facility rehabilitation and safety upgrades.
• Ketchikan: $4.2 million to the Borough of Ketchikan Gateway from the Federal Transit Administration for community use of hydroelectricity and the transition to electric buses and charging infrastructure.
• Kodiak: $48,279 to the Kodiak Historical Society from the Institute of Museum and Library Services for Photography Projects.
• Metlakatla: $402,257 to the Metlakatla Indian Community from the Federal Transit Administration for battery electric bus service from the Annette Islands Ferry Terminal.
• Sitka: $7.8 million to the City and Borough of Sitka as part of Rebuilding America’s Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity (RAISE) for the design and construction of the Marine Service Center (MSC).
• Sitka: $24,685 to NSF’s Sitka Science Center for Collaborative Research: The Origin of Cetacean Big Brains.
• Takotna: $1 million to the United States Department of Agriculture’s Southcentral Foundation for the construction of a health care clinic and the provision of medical equipment and supplies to provide primary medical services in Takotna.
