Get out of the script. Chris Rockit’s a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith during the Oscars 2022 did not land well with the actress or her husband, Will Smith.
“Jade, I love you. GI Jane 2, can’t wait to see this. Good?” Rock joked during the awards show on Sunday, March 27, adding, “That was fun.”
Jada, for her part, was seen rolling her eyes onscreen before Will took the stage and slapped Rock. The incident, which originally appeared scripted, caused ABC to cut the live segment. the King Richard star returned to his seat before saying, “Keep my wife’s name out of your fucking mouth.” In response, Rock attempted to laugh at the situation before promising not to mention Jada.
Later that night, Didi reacted to the feud by asking the duo to work out their issues.
“I just mean let’s make some noise for Amy [Schumer], Regina [Hall] and wanda [Sykes]! I have to give up for Wanda. I had no idea this year was going to be the most exciting Oscars ever,” the rapper said onstage. “Okay, Will and Chris, we’re gonna work this out like family at the Gold Party, okay? But right now, we’re moving forward with love. Everybody’s making noise!
the old Saturday Night Live the star’s joke, which referenced Jada’s shaved head, came after the Red table discussion the host has already spoken about his diagnosis of alopecia. The medical condition is known to cause hair loss.
In January, the Maryland native posted a video where she pointed out a patch of baldness on her head.
“Now at this point I can only laugh. Y’all know I struggled with alopecia and all of a sudden one day look at this line here,” she said of her scalp via Instagram. “Now it’s going to be a little harder for me to hide it, so I thought I’d share it so you wouldn’t ask questions – but you know, mom is going to put some rhinestones in there, and I I am going to make myself a little crown.
Jada captioned the upload on social media, “Mom’s gonna have to take it all the way to the scalp so no one thinks she’s had brain surgery or something😜. Me and this alopecia are gonna be friends…period!
